Southport 1 Harrogate Town 0

It was quite windy today at Haig Ave. Drench was at the ground but was not even on the bench again and is not listed in the programme as being a Southport player. McMillan has become the target of the usual internet campaign. Kevin Lee started the match in his new right back position.
There was only one goal in the 90minutes today, Kilheeney scoring his first league for Southport. There were plenty of chances for both sides. Harrogate were a good side with some very short players.
Over all it wasn't a great game. Southport played very deep and the whole side had trouble clearing the ball. Only Mark Duffy seeming interested in going forward. McMillan saved the points for his team with some brilliant saves.
Southport need to improve on set pieces, I cant see us scoring many goals from corners this season.
Hopefully the return of Moogan will improve midfield which was poor again.

MOTM: Mark Duffy
